Inspired by the playful decoration rites of children from the Omo Valley of Africa, I set out to create a ritual using found plant material and body paints dyed with natural pigments. A small group of artists were invited to participate on the autumnal equinox in observance of the changing of the seasons. It was my aim to create an intentional experience that would encourage child-like fearless creativity, connection to the natural environment, and foster human connection through shared experience.
